Mushiny 4-Way ShuttleThe best of both worlds.

Use Mushiny's AMRs for goods-to-person picking on the ground, with dense automated pallet storage above.

How it works.

  1. Pallets are profile checked and weighed

Pallets are checked to confirm conformance with pallet specification.

  2. Roaming shuttles

Shuttles pick up pallets from infeed and are sent up a lift to their storage level.

  3. Pallets stored in channels

Multi deep storage allows higher density storage of pallets.

  4. Pallets are sent out on demand in FIFO order

Facilitates full pallets or automated goods-to-person replenishment.

It needs no new building and no new floor. 1.3 to 4 times more pallets in the footprint you have.

Frequently asked questions

Does it use our existing racking?

No. The shuttle runs on racking built for it, so the grid is a new structure rather than a conversion of what you have. What you keep is the building: the extra capacity comes out of the footprint and the height you already occupy.

How much extra pallet capacity does it give?

Between 1.3 and 4 times more pallets in the same footprint in comparison to single deep pallet racking, depending on the pallet profile and how deep the channels can run. Density is the easy part to size. The harder question is peak throughput, which is set by how many lifts you have and how fast they are, not by how many shuttles.

Does it work in a freezer?

Yes. It operates down to -25 degrees Celsius, so let the robots do the work where people would rather not. Enquire to see our reference site running T6 series AMRs in a freezer.

How quickly can we add capacity later?

Adding shuttles improves throughput and can be done quickly. The step change comes from the lifts, which run at roughly 40 pallets an hour each, so if growth is likely, plan the lift count for it up front. Extending the racking for more locations is straightforward, because the rack is modular.
